Moses A. MAWA

Moses is a Board of Directors and Founding member of NAUCA. He brings a wealth of experience as the President and CEO of Silvertrust Media, the Afroglobal Television channel, and the Transformation Institute For Leadership And Innovation, which undertakes the Transformation Awards, the Crossover Mentorship Program, and others, as well as the Imagine Uganda initiative, which showcases Uganda internationally.
A serial entrepreneur and social innovation thought leader, Moses co-founded the Marcus Garvey Institute with Dr. Julius Garvey, son of the legendary Marcus Mosiah Garvey, and their associate Michael Dawson. He established Destiny Harvest and the Black Media Association. His trident vision is about serving community, humanity and divinity, encapsulated in his Legacy Mindset initiative.
As a film and television executive, he has produced Synergy, Standing Ovation, The Minister, the Omobella Drama Series, and others. His Excellence Awards initiative has hosted and honoured Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s daughter Bernice King; Bob Marley’s wife Rita Marley; Nobel Laureate Professor Wole Soyinka; South African music superstar Yvonne Chaka Chaka and others.
Moses has published magazines for Kenya, Nigeria, Zambia, Zimbabwe and others such as Diversity, Destiny, Legacy, Envision and Excellence magazines. He co-authored the 150 Extraordinary Canadians legacy book, with foreword by Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada.
In 2016, Moses and his team launched Afroglobal Television, a 24-hour super channel that informs, empowers, uplifts and entertains with programming on Africa and the Diaspora. It is on Rogers Cable, Bell, Eastlink, Telus and Ignite across Canada. He has been commissioned by the Government of Ontario, Rogers and others to produce transformational media content.
In a half-hour global television special, Moses was featured on CNN due to his entrepreneurial impact in 2013. He holds a B.A. degree in Film Studies from Carleton University. In Uganda, he is the Managing Director of Radio Amani, which he founded with his sister, the late Hon. Jesca Eriyo, former MP, Minister and Deputy General of the East African Community.
Moses received the Toronto Police Community Service Award; the Harry Jerome Media Award; York Regional Police Civic Leadership Award; Reelworld Visionary Award; National Ethnic Press & Media Council Excellence in Media Award presented by the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario; and the Queen of England’s Diamond Jubilee Medal, presented to him by the Government of Canada.
