About Us

National Alliance of Ugandan Canadian Associations

The National Alliance of Ugandan Canadian Associations (NAUCA) is a unifying body representing Ugandan Canadians across Canada. Rooted in unity, cooperation, and cultural preservation, NAUCA is committed to enhancing the quality of life for Ugandan Canadians, fostering collaboration among community members, and supporting the cultural, social, and economic development of Ugandan communities in Canada.

Our Story

NAUCA was born out of a shared vision from its humble beginning on the Canadian Thanksgiving Day, October 14, 2024 when 15 dedicated Ugandan Canadian patriots-representing communities from Vancouver, BC, Edmonton, AB, Cochrane, AB, Ottawa, ON, Toronto, ON and Charlottetown, PEI came together to form the National Steering Committee.

The Committee worked diligently to lay the foundation of the organization. They drafted the Constitution, the Governance Charter, and developed the organization’s name, motto, logo and organization’s colors.

By December 24, 2024, the National Steering Committee had completed and approved these foundational elements and NAUCA – the National Alliance of Ugandan Canadian Associations was officially born, proudly carrying the motto “Together We Thrive”.

On January 18, 2025, NAUCA was federally incorporated as a national not for profit organization under the Canadian Not-For-Profit Corporations Act, with its headquarters in Ottawa, ONTARIO.

Almost exactly a year from its humble beginings on Saturday October 11, 2025, NAUCA was officially lauched to the public during the canadian Thanks giving and Uganda 63rd Independance Day Celebrations at the Westin Hotel, Ottawa, Ontario.
